Hamptons Comedy Film Fest proudly accepts entries on FilmFreeway, the world's #1 way to enter film festivals and creative contests. https://filmfreeway.com/HamptonsComedyFestival
The Hamptons Comedy Film Festival presents an ongoing, highly curated showcase for the best in comedy -- shorts, features, tv pilots, web series, filmed sketch comedy and animation -- for our Hamptons audiences, often filled with entertainment industry. We allow for rolling submissions and present our selected films at our beautiful comedy club theatre at Sticks and Stones Comedy Club. Hamptons Comedy Festival was first established in 2000 and sponsored by HBO. Many comedians performed in the Hamptons, including Ed Helms, Judy Gold and Joy Behar. The NY Friars Club presented a comedy award here, in honor of Soupy Sales. The HCF presented the Hamptons Comedy Film Festival, showing shorts and features - including Sarah Silverman's earliest film Who's the Caboose? directed by Sam Seder. After many consecutive years of the HBO Hamptons Comedy Festival, the festival organizers moved to LA and began producing live comedy with performers like Marc Maron and Maria Bamford at venues like UCB. Now, the Hamptons Comedy Festival is presenting live comedy and screening selected comedy shorts and features each week at Sticks and Stones Comedy Club theatre in Southampton, NY. We kicked off the 2024 HCFF season in March with Carol & Janet, written & directed by Andrea Rosen, starring Tara Copeland and Giselle Gant; The Jack & Brendan Show, created by and starring Jack Adam and Brendan Ryan, who were both in attendance for a Q&A; and Rewriting: The Journey of a Joke, written & directed by comic Kyle Mara, who delighted the audience with some standup after his film!
Fast forward to our August installment, the Hamptons Comedy Film Festival presented a dazzling lineup of comedy films, workshops, panels and fun parties with live music from DJ Mars Fox and Kraman. Besides some of the films which garnered attention as Honorable Mentions, the amazing films we screened were: The EKSPATS: We're Going to Africa, a really well done and well-received animated film, directed by Ron Myrick; Mother Father Sister Brother Frank, written & directed by Caden Douglas and starring Mindy Cohn; The Grievance, starring Rosie O'Donnell and Kevin Pollak and directed by Richie Keen; A Friendly Turn, directed by Boris Schaarschmidt; Separate Checks, directed by Amelia Arnold; The Hidden Talent of Gilbert Gottfried, directed by Lily Gottfried; and spotlight film Dr. No Means No, directed by SWSW-winning filmmaker Kestrin Pantera and starring The Sklar Brothers, all of whom flew in from LA for the screening, Q&A and party. Workshops and panels were well attended, including by Eddie Brill, Joy Behar. Such a great time, and we can't wait til next one!
